Food Competition in Lent
Managua sets record on number of participants at the Departmental Contest Lenten Meals
Against the backdrop of the Paseo Xolotlán, delegating INTUR-Managua department conducted the VI Contest of Lent with the support of the Mayor of Managua and municipal cabinets Tourism which was described by participants as successful.
Of 31 participants departmental competition Mangua Lent, the jury composed of renowned Spanish chef selected the top 3 places that met the parameters of flavor, color and tradition of which represent Mangau first place in the National Competition.
A delicious rice watered with Gaspar brought the municipality of Ticuantepe, won First Place saucer departmental contest. Martha Baltodano Managua INTUR delegate scored record participation of 31 representatives of the municipalities of Managua. The winner of the first place was the young Maria Eugenia Rosales Municipality of Ticuantepe, who visibly moved, received his award from C $ 7,000.00 Cordobas from the Deputy Mayor of Managua, mate Enrique Armas and the Board of INTUR-Managua, companion Martha Baltodano .
Second place went to the contestant in the municipality of Managua, Mrs. Maria Asuncion Rivera, who received his award from C $ 5,000.00 Cordobas, and. The third place went to the representative of the municipality of Mateare, Mrs. Jeanine Elizabeth Castellón, who received a prize of C $ 3,000.00.
Participants appreciated the success that these competitions are taking traditional foods that promotes INTUR alongside Cabinets Touring each municipality and also thanked President Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo, to support them and restore their right to recreation and leisure.
The delegate of INTUR in the department of Managua, companion Martha Baltodano said that departmental Lent contests have been a success because more and more players are integrated to the rescue of the national cuisine. Cultural activities Lent contest was conducted by folk groups of municipalities; Ciudad Sandino, Managua, Villa El Carmen, the Leonel Rugama Cultural Movement, the marimba band of brothers Contreras and Samba band Boom.
