Nicaragua headquarters of the International Forum of Solidarity Tourism in Latin America.

With the participation of 27 international delegations from France, Spain, Holland, Argentina, Ecuador, Chile, Honduras, Nicaragua and Costa Rica among others, was held in the city of Granada in the 24th and 25th September, the "International Forum Responsible Tourism in Latin America "in order to exchange experience in tourism among the participants. 

Prior to the International International Forum, said Chief Executive INTUR partner Mayra Salinas, 27 delegations participated in two days of field trips where they made exchanges of experience in various parts of the country, including Chinandega, Isla de Ometepe, Rio San John and the Northern Region where the Coffee Trail is located, so that visitors knew what Nicaragua has been making in Sustainable Rural tourism and Solidarity as a real alternative to contribute to local development and poverty reduction. 

Tourism Minister Mayra Salinas, explained some of the challenges in sustainable and responsible tourism including noting "the marketing of rural and community tourism products, which should be more fluid and effective, the importance of strengthening the chain value, deepen the capacities of stakeholders and continue to work together to form an effective part of the competitive bid to reach each destination and tourist arrivals figures that makes them economically sustainable initiatives where the real beneficiaries are the communities. 

The thinness of the European Union, Mr Giovanni Di Girolamo said that 19 local initiatives are driven by the amount of support to local development through INTUR and Colonial Road and Volcano, with technical support from Lux Devlopment, 3 million euros. 

The French Ambassador to Nicaragua, Mr. Antoine Joly, speaking at the opening ceremony said that the solidarity, rural and sustainable tourism is an advantage to Nicaragua because it is a country well adapted to this type of tourism and because it has high levels of weekly safety and said he and his family visit a Nicaraguan tourist destination where they could find the existing public safety in the country and be in contact with a warm and friendly population. 

For his part, Mr. Jean Collombon, FIT Coordinator International historical city on the rise of the international tourism organization and reported that parallel forums are preparing similar for Senegal and Tunisia. 

After the opening of the Forum, the Executive President of the Nicaraguan Institute of Tourism (INTUR) partner Mayra Salinas told the media claimed that the performance in Granada Nicaragua, the International Forum for Responsible Tourism is a recognition of the work of commander Daniel Ortega, Rosario Murillo Companion and his government on the issue of tourism development.
