Fernando Aguirre elected President of the ISA

For the eighth consecutive year, the Argentine Fernando Aguerre was elected in Punta Rocas, Peru, as president of the International Surfing Association, ISA for its acronym in English. The election was held during the 50th anniversary of the world surfing games in the South American country. 

During the celebration of the 50th anniversary were elected two new vice presidents of ISA, both renowned surfers worldwide, and these Stainfath Casper; Two-time world champion racing Stand Up Paddle and Olympic gold medalist Barbara Kendall. 

The other Vice Presidents are the professional surfer and two-time world champion by the ISA, Layne Beachley and the Peruvian Karin Sierralta, both reelected since 2012. 

With Fernando Aguerre, president of the ISA, the agency has held three world championships surf in various forms in Nicaragua, for which it has had the decided support of President Daniel Ortega, through the Nicaraguan Tourism Institute. 

In his visits to Nicaragua Fernando Aguerre has met with President Daniel Ortega, highlighting the support provided by the Nicaraguan president to the development of surfing in our country and worldwide.
