Parish Church San Jeronimo
Back in our Fatherland Journey, we passed the historic town of Masaya, where we noted that the Church San Jeronimo has received excellent maintenance of the Municipal City Hall of the City. Congratulations to all Masayas!
The old chapel was destroyed on September 30, 1925, because of a very strong earthquake. It consisted of a nave and was rather small. The reconstruction of the church began in 1929.
In 1934, he was elevated to parish when he died the Fr. Francisco Robleto. The address of the new Church, was in charge of the Master Rocha. Currently, saves an old image of the Holy Doctor, receiving great veneration by the people, especially the September 30 of each year. Processional cross has a beautiful baroque plant.
It is the third church to be built in the same place. Its dome and both internal and external ornaments are works of true value and home decoration.
