Ornithology Course
INTUR imparts Ornithology course to the Colonial Travel and Volcano RouteGuides.
In order to strengthen the knowledge and quality of care to domestic and foreign tourists, INTUR through the Colonial Route and Volcano, with funding from the European Union through the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, gave a course training to 14 local tour guides Salinas Grandes, Estero Padre Ramos, Leon, Chocoyero, Managua, Villa el Carmen, Ometepe and Ticuantepe. The course lasted four days was given on the subject of ornithology, Osvaldo Taisigüe informed, responsible for monitoring the trainings are taught to tour guides.
This type of course is a response to the demands of agricultural cooperatives also engaged in rural tourism and for some time been demanding courses in ornithology, volcanology, historic heritage and environmental interpretation, explained Taisigüe.
At 14 guides participated in the course on ornithology were delivered for the first time bird guide. The first day of the course guides corresponded to the observation of birds, two days of theory and one day closer to the field observation.
Last June were offered to local tour guides Leon, Ometepe, Masaya and Granada four-day course on volcanology, held at the Masaya volcano.
The course participants reported being satisfied with the courses run INTUR supported by the European Union through the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, because that can obtain higher knowledge of ornithology, to provide a service to tourists who hire .
The delegate INTUR to Masaya, Inés companion Blandon said that these courses ornithology and volcanology, among others, are taught with the idea of strengthening the quality of services and tourism in Nicaragua, particularly the project Colonial Road and Volcano.
Courses are taught by experts in each topic, ie biologists, volcanologists, archaeologists and historians.
